Yesterday I went to the 63rd Junior Orange Bowl Parade. I’ve lived in Miami for 32 years and it was my first time attending.
The Junior Orange Bowl Parade is the oldest and most popular event of the Junior Orange Bowl International Youth Festival, a series of events dedicated to celebrating youth through wholesome, competitive, and multi-cultural experiences such as sports, chess, photography, and creative writing.
My 15-year-old niece plays saxophone in Miami Senior High School’s Million Dollar Band and this was her first parade. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to spend as much time with my family and friends as I can because, as my trip to Australia approaches, I feel more and more like I’m going to miss a lot of stuff here.
