Sunday Gratitudes on Monday
A few things that are making me happy this week and that I’m grateful for:
Apple’s New iPhone
Even though I’m unable to use it while I’m here in Australia, I love my almost defunct iPhone. Currently, I’m on a pre-paid mobile while I anxiously await Apple’s new iPhone 5, which is said to launch this week.
The Democratic National Convention
Yes, I’m a liberal (surprise!) and I was glad that YouTube live-streamed the convention so expats all around the world could tune in. How fab was the FLOTUS?
Halloween Decor
While it’s spring here down under, no doubt American shops are starting to fill their shelves with autumn decor and Halloween goodies. Halloween is not so big here in Australia, but with awesome crafts such as dancing lawn ghosts and wriggling snake wreathe from Martha Stewart, I might just make it my own personal crusade to popularize Halloween. You’re missing out, Australia.
Skyrim
My friend Lori introduced me to the world of the Elder Scrolls with Morrowind in 2002. This video game series is the reason I don’t own a gaming console; I’m afraid I’d neglect all my responsibilities, family, friends, and never leave the house again. In a few years, I’d be featured on Hoarders or some other sad reality show. But there’s a PS3 gaming console in this house. And there’s Skyrim. It just magically appeared one day. I’ve already purchased the game guide. I may be gone a while. A long while.
Henri
My previously mentioned friend Lori doesn’t like lolcats. She feels that cats are highly intelligent creatures and they would not express themselves in the stupid manner in which they are portrayed in lolcats. I agree (but I still like lolcats). Enter Henri, the sophisticated, French, existentialist answer to lolcats. Theo says I’m easily amused. He may be right.
What’s making you happy this week?

Henri was way too cute! Thanks for the laugh and smile ; )
