A few things that are making me happy this week and that I’m grateful for:
Seeing Others Pursuing Interests That Make Them Happy
Theo joined a photography club in Melbourne and soon he will be entering this year’s Canon EOS Photo 5 contest. Meanwhile my sister has not emerged from her photo editing software following her trip to New York City.
Another Grand Council in the Can
This weekend, the members of the Covenant of the Goddess, one of America’s oldest organizations for Witches, gathered in New Mexico for its annual business meeting. COG operates by consensus and watching a couple of hundred people come to accord on a variety of issues such as the budget, public education, social media, the mission of the organization, proposals for next year, and new officers is interesting and challenging. I don’t know how we do it, but we do. I didn’t attend this year, but I’m grateful some of my fellow COG members were able to attend and report back throughout the weekend.
The New Georgian Wicca Website Goes Live
Wicca, like many other religions, has different denominations, which we call traditions. I belong to the Georgian tradition and this week we launched our new and improved website. It’s a project that had been on my radar for over a year and I’d been working on it for months. I’m happy with the result and that the feedback has been positive.
Theo bought me a cute new mobile phone and shipped it across the world to me so I could call him when I arrive. Last time, he was waiting at the airport for two hours as I got through customs and we had no way to communicate. It’s a simple pre-paid mobile and although it looks like a Crackberry, it has no bells and whistles, but that’s adequate for now. I don’t exactly have a lot of people to call and I’m not ready to commit to a new smartphone until I see what the next iPhone will have in store.
