Scenes from the Disney Marketplace

DisneyMarketplace

When people think of Walt Disney World, they tend to think of the parks especially the Magic Kingdom. There’s much more to it than the parks.

Formally titled the Walt Disney World Resort, it covers more than 30k acres and includes four theme parks, two water parks, 23 on-site themed resort hotels including a campground, two spa and fitness centers, five golf courses, and a large shopping, dinning, and entertainment complex known as Downtown Disney.

We went to the Disney Marketplace, the shopping side of Downtown Disney. I’m not a big shopper. I see many things that I like, but I’m something of a minimalist and unless I love it and have a place for it, I won’t buy it. I did purchase a few Disney pins for myself and for some friends in Australia.

This crystal-covered version of Cinderella’s castle can be yours for only $35k.

I love this piece of the human Maleficent inside her dragon form.

Minnie Mouse goes French.

Amour Minnie.

A display for the TV series “Once Upon a Time.”

There’s a lot to look at in this clothing shop.

A tray of Jack Skellingtons.

Micky and Minnie as Luke and Leia.

Mickey as Indian Jones. All I hear is the theme song now.

Candy, candy, candy.

World of Disney is one massive store with many connected rooms covering toys, clothing, accessories, games, and more.

Gotta have pirates.

Argh Matey!

I love the assortment of tiny top hats. Here’s a Mad Hatter one.

This is the gnome I’m going to get for the garden. (I’m kidding, Theo!)

This large scene of Prince Phillip battling Maleficent as a dragon from “Sleeping Beauty” is entirely made of Legos.

  1. Just got back from Disneyland… California Adventure… The “Cars Racer” ride is the best Disney ride ever… Ya gotta ride it…

    • I’m not sure that Disney World has that ride, but I’ll look out for it. Thanks!

Loved your photos, we are big Disney fans and have our own jack and a hatter hat. Reminded me of fun times. The girls are off to see Disney on ice this week – never to old

    • I agree; you’re never too old for Disney. I hope the girls have a great time.
