Sunday Gratitudes

Joel Wilkinson

A few things that are making me happy this week and that I’m grateful for:

Standing Up for What’s Right

Earlier this week, it was reported that the Collingwood Football Club cancelled the membership of a 20-year supporter for a racial slur against Gold Coast player Joel Wilkinson. Magpies midfielder Dale Thomas reported the incident and it has been made public in an effort to educate spectators on what is unacceptable crowd behavior. Kudos to Thomas and the Pies.

My Pagan Community

I refer specifically to immediate circle – my coven and EMLC. It’s such a pleasure to be in the company of mature and generous people dedicated to personal growth and community. I’m also grateful to Pagan friends beyond my neighborhood such as Andras Corban Arthen, Jason Pitzl-Waters, M. Macha NightMare, Rowan Fairgrove, and Selena Fox, who all do amazing work. I’m going to miss my Pagan family something awful.

I unpacked my altar items this week and put them back in their place. I’ll be packing them up again in a couple of months, but for now it’s nice to have them out.

The Little Things

There are many random little things that occur everyday throughout the day that make me smile. Like a pair of sunglasses with a plastic mustache attached to it or seeing a Yoda bobblehead giving the thumbs up. This is one reason I like smartphone cameras and social sharing. It helps you capture moments that often go unacknowledged and are quickly forgotten.

Learning and Improving

This week I attended a webinar hosted by Evernote on using it for marketing and community management. I like Evernote and have been using it for at least a year, but this webinar showed me how much I was under-using it and I picked up a lot of great ideas. I liked Evernote before; I love it now. I also picked up some great ideas for using Google Sites and Zendesk better.

New Opportunities

They can be scary and stressful, but also full of potential, excitement, and growth.

What’s making you happy this week?
